After a day of failed explores in the City we made our way over London Bridge to Southwark Tower. Built in 1976 this 328ft tall office block in 1976 this 328ft tall office block once housed Price Cooper Waterhouse, but they had recently moved out and demolition was now on the cards for this urban monolith. We precariously made our way onto the site and pretty soon had found a way into one of the building stairwells. Using the lifts was not an option here so we slowly made our way up the stairs pausing slightly at the 8th floor in order to avoid security who were doing their rounds. Another 10 floors or so later and we found ourselves on the lower terrace. Views from here were good but we knew that better views awaited us on the roof. After a few minutes of photgraphing the skyline we walked back to the stairwell and continued the arduous walk upwards. Pretty soon we had reached the summit and we walked out onto the roof to be faced with a bitter cold wind. Our aching legs and bursting lungs soon gave way to a feeling of euphoria and we both took a while to take in the incredible views. Its really is hard to describe the feeling when you are faced with such a magnificent vista as this. Soon we were back to taking pics knowing that time was short and that a long walk down still awaited us. The eerie creaking of the adjoining crane swaying in the wind together with a door slamming added some sound effects to this explore. We were desperate for a pint by this time so after about 30 mins of photographing we headed back down the stairwell to where we originally came in. A excellent night with excellent company...who could ask for anything more!!!!!
